Stefan H. Heuer: Trump Gaza – a truly happy future? Some questions about the “New Gaza” (October 23, 2025)

Sovereignty is not on the agenda – what is the Trump Club aiming for in Palestine?

Gaza, Trump, peace, Frieden, Neues Gaza, New Gaza,
New Gaza

The Trump plan for Gaza: With all the shiny, grand, spectacular, magnificent offers for a “New Gaza” (trademark D.J.T.), made possible by Big Daddy Trump for the people who have already suffered enough, everyone is excited about the supposed prospect of a great and eternal peace.

The heads of state and government of several nations gathered in Sharm El Sheikh to shake hands and reaffirm their support for this peace agreement. Even the Europeans were there, who, like the US, strongly supported the genocide by “Israel.” Everyone smiled and hoped to bask in some of the glory of Big Daddy Trump’s triumph.

Of course, in such a joyful situation, where all you see are happy faces, no one asks silly questions. This show is designed to get the heads of state attention and good press in their home countries (even if, in the end, they embarrassingly ended up next to the flower arrangements).

We, who were not invited to this event, take the liberty of asking silly questions.

The silly question that seems crucial to me is: Who will own this place when all the nice, well-meaning rich people come and invest their millions there?
And yes, I mean literally “own” in the truest sense of the word.
In fact, this question is of crucial importance to Palestinians, especially the residents of the Gaza Strip, as well as to anyone interested in investing in the Gaza Strip.

Do we really expect rich people (who have become rich for certain reasons) from abroad to invest their millions without having a decisive influence on the object of their investment? Is that how investments work?
Property rights are indeed a central issue in any investment plan.

So, can we really assume that the people of Gaza will remain in control when individuals with a very specific personality profile, such as Trump, heads of state from other nations, and the notorious war criminal Blair, are making decisions for this region? Who is influencing Trump, Blair, and these other heads of state, and whom are they serving?

Let us take a look at Trump’s plan:

„9. Gaza will be governed under the temporary transitional governance of a technocratic, apolitical Palestinian committee, responsible for delivering the day-to-day running of public services and municipalities for the people in Gaza. This committee will be made up of qualified Palestinians and international experts, with oversight and supervision by a new international transitional body, the ‚Board of Peace‘, which will be headed and chaired by President Donald J. Trump, with other members and heads of state to be announced, including Former Prime Minister Tony Blair. This body will set the framework and handle the funding for the redevelopment of Gaza until such time as the Palestinian Authority has completed its reform programme, as outlined in various proposals, including President Trump’s peace plan in 2020 and the Saudi-French proposal, and can securely and effectively take back control of Gaza. This body will call on best international standards to create modern and efficient governance that serves the people of Gaza and is conducive to attracting investment.“ (https://www.bbc.com/news/articles/c70155nked7o)

The Palestinian people simply have to do what they are told by the board of directors headed by the US president Trump. The Trump board of directors is using puppets, sorry: a “technocratic, apolitical Palestinian committee“ Note: This is not a Palestinian government that was freely elected and authorized by the people of Gaza, but a “committee” appointed and directed by foreigners.

This is a colony.

The US, Britain, and France did exactly the same thing to defeated Germany after World War II—and we Germans still live under the command of the foreign powers that installed their puppet regime in 1949.

The Palestinians, who have been deprived of any means of self-defense against the still aggressive military superpower “Israel,” the terrorist occupier of Palestine, the perpetrator of genocide, land theft, and humiliation since 1948, are being handed over to an external body and the power that this body will exercise. Does that sound like autonomy and sovereignty to you?

Sovereignty refers to authority in the decision-making process of the state and in maintaining order (https://www.britannica.com/topic/sovereignty). A sovereign state is legally and politically independent in its foreign and domestic policy (including the ius ad bellum). Trump’s plan effectively places Gaza and the Palestinian people under the guardianship of a foreign power.

Jakob Maria Mierscheid writes quite correctly: “The reasoning behind this new foreign policy initiative is fragile and contradictory. It mixes classic imperial thinking with mercantile rhetoric […].” (https://freiburger-standard.de/2025/02/08/das-selbstbestimmungsrecht-der-voelker-und-die-normativitaet-des-voelkerrechts/)

Of course, the corrupt Palestinian Authority, which is trying to outdo its rival Hamas, joined the Trump team:
“The Palestinian Authority joins regional leaders in welcoming US president’s 20-point peace plan to end war in Gaza.” (https://www.aljazeera.com/news/2025/9/29/trumps-gaza-peace-plan-welcomed-by-arab-and-islamic-countries-the-west).

Does the plan mean that PA employees are to set up a new police force for Gaza?

Trump writes in his plan: “13. Hamas and other factions agree to not have any role in the governance of Gaza, directly, indirectly, or in any form.“
How could Hamas simply agree to be sent to oblivion? We should assume that Hamas and Islamic Jihad have borne the brunt of the fight against the terrorist IDF. The IDF has deliberately targeted Palestinian civilians and destroyed Gaza.

Hamas has therefore not fully accepted the plan (https://english.alarabiya.net/News/middle-east/2025/10/04/explainer-what-hamas-accepted-and-rejected-in-trump-s-gaza-peace-plan). And indeed, Hamas has recently made efforts to maintain its presence in Gaza as a force for law and order (https://english.alarabiya.net/News/middle-east/2025/10/21/hamas-says-dealt-severe-blow-to-group-it-says-collaborated-with-israel).

How is it that all these evil people who are greedy for power and money, like Trump, are suddenly rushing to help Gaza? Oh, wait, no, they actually want to build a “New Gaza” (and this term should set off some alarm bells, given that we are dealing with despicable characters!), with the helpful assistance of war criminal and liar Tony Blair.

As if the PSYCHOPATHS who govern this MATRIX, who feed on our pain, our fear, and our grief, and who live perfectly off the billions they rob and plunder from us, have ever cared about a single human being for even a second in their worthless lives! Do you really believe that these monsters, after turning most of the Levant, parts of North Africa, Asia, and Latin America into a living hell, after instigating the coup in Kiev and now happily enjoying the money flowing back from the war in Donbass, now, after they have turned Europe into a miserable place, will they surprisingly become humane and empathetic and truly strive for the noblest goals for the well-being of humanity? Give me a break!

The Palestinians were and are innocent of the genocide and the destruction of Gaza. They are the victims. Nevertheless, they are to be subjected to foreign rule by the very elite that made the genocide possible, while “Israel” need to do nothing more than withdraw its army a little and still remain the powerful usurper of power in Palestine that it has always been. But true peace in Palestine can only be achieved through the dissolution of this illegal occupying power, “Israel,” and the establishment of a sovereign state of Palestine on the ENTIRE Palestinian territory.

Trump’s plan also fails to address issues vital to Gaza concerning its maritime territory and airspace. “Israel” has been blocking sea access to Gaza since 2009 and is using the airspace above the strip for its air strikes. The maritime area belonging to Gaza contains an enormous gas field: „Gaza Marine is a natural-gas field off the coast of the Gaza Strip. The Gaza Marine field is located about 36 km. offshore at a depth of 610 meters. The field was discovered in 2000 by BG (British Gas) Group, and it is estimated to contain more than one trillion cubic feet of natural gas.“ (https://www.jpost.com/business-and-innovation/energy-and-infrastructure/article-774864)

The exploitation of the Gaza Marine field would undoubtedly make the Palestinians of Gaza millionaires. But, in a brazenly predatory manner, its exploitation is claimed by Israel.

Quite openly, the Trump plan paves the way for a new colonization of the Gaza Strip. Even if it was born of good will, it means nothing less than the complete subjugation of a people who have endured enormous horrors under a foreign power for decades. This is not a plan for peace and a Palestinian state. Rather, it appears to be a sugar-coated plan for land grabbing. Therefore, we must ask again: Who ARE and who WILL be the undisputed owners of the real estate, the owners of the land?

I understand that the question of sovereignty may seem of secondary importance as long as people are starving and living in harsh conditions. Nevertheless, this question is crucial for the future, especially for a just and lasting peace, which all sides supposedly strive for.

And there is another aspect: since the UN has officially designated the genocide as such (https://www.ohchr.org/en/press-releases/2025/09/israel-has-committed-genocide-gaza-strip-un-commission-finds) and the war waged by “Israel” against Gaza is a war crime, “Israel,” the illegal occupier of Palestine, is fully obligated to pay compensation and reparations. These payments would then give the Palestinians the means to rebuild Gaza without foreign investors. As far as I know, Trump’s plan did not mention such an obligation.

With the Trump Plan, the Palestinians are obliged to submit to Israel, but the entire plan contains no obligation for Israel to comply. The inhabitants of Gaza were a threat, this threat must be eliminated, then aid, investment, and a golden future would follow – this is far too hollow to work in reality for Gaza.

Personally, I doubt that this is just a coincidence.
It was Trump (and a few others who smiled for the cameras in Sharm El Sheikh) who made the genocide possible through his support of Israel. What if Big Daddy one day came to the conclusion that the people of Gaza, whom he had treated so generously (in his vain opinion), had not kept to the commitments laid down in his grand plan? What if Trump decides one day that the Palestinians still pose a threat to “Israel” (which practically owns him)? Would Trump still hand over full sovereignty to the Palestinian people?

And who gave Trump the authority to decide on the sovereignty of a foreign people?

I admit these are silly questions from a simple man. This simple man thinks these silly questions should be asked and answered.
